Training Programme Terms & Conditions
- By booking participants onto the SESCA (South-East Social Care Alliance) Training Programme, the person making the booking (the “booking contact”) is deemed to be authorized by the participant’s employer.
- The booking contact confirms that participants have been granted the requisite time off from work duties to attend the training. Participants must not be booked to attend training while engaged in other work duties.
- Participants must meet the following criteria:
- Non-UK national
- Working under a sponsored visa
- Ideally, recently arrived in the UK, but not essential
- Employed by an adult social care organization operating in the South-East of the UK
- Each training course allows a maximum of 2 participants per care provider. Where a course is offered multiple times, each instance can accommodate 2 participants per care provider.
- Booking Confirmation Process: All bookings will be confirmed by phone to the booking contact details provided. We will make reasonable attempts to contact the booking contact at least 7 days prior to the course start date. If we are unable to reach you by phone during this period, we will send an email as a final notice requesting your response within 24 hours. If we do not receive a response within the specified timeframe, we reserve the right to cancel your booking. In such cases, a late cancellation fee of £100 will be invoiced to the organisation address provided in the booking form.
- Participants commit to attending the entire duration of the course or workshop. Course lengths vary and can be up to 6 weeks in duration. Failure to attend any session within a course will result in the employing organisation being charged a late cancellation fee of £100 per participant, if non-attendance results in the participant being unable to complete the course. An invoice will be sent to the organisation address provided in the booking form.
- If a participant is unable to attend a session, SESCA must be notified by email to Lisa Leah at lisa.leah@oacp.org.uk.
- A participant may be replaced with an alternative participant, provided that the alternative participant meets the above criteria. In such case, SESCA must be notified in advance by email using the above email address.
- Cancellation of a booking must be made at least 7 days before the start date of the workshop or course.
- Cancellations made less than 7 days before the start date, or non-attendance will result in the employing organisation being charged a late cancellation fee of £100 per participant, per course. An invoice will be sent to the organisation address provided in the booking form.
- Each workshop/course requires a minimum of 6 participants.
- SESCA reserves the right to cancel a workshop/course at any time without liability. In such cases, SESCA will make efforts to offer an alternative date, though this may not always be possible.
- SESCA is not responsible for any expenses incurred.
- Participants are required to be prepared for online training sessions, with a stable broadband connection. While mobile handsets can access the sessions, it is advisable to use a laptop or desktop for a larger screen. Comprehensive joining instructions will be e-mailed to participants and their line managers in advance.
- Certificates of completion will be issued by the training course provider to the participant, upon successful completion of the course. Providers should liaise directly with their participating staff to obtain copies of certificates.
- For participants booking the “Mastering Social Care Communication” course, please note that there is a requirement to complete approximately 2 hours of e-learning before each weekly session, as a condition of completing the course.
- Employers acknowledge that the “Care Certificate with English Language Support” course covers the theory aspects of the Care Certificate, and practical skills assessments must still be conducted by the employer before issuing the Skills for Care certificate.
- SESCA adheres to strict confidentiality standards to safeguard your information and will only share your contact details with training providers for the sole purpose of facilitating the training courses.
SESCA reserves the right to amend this disclaimer at any time without prior notice. It is your responsibility to review this disclaimer periodically for any updates or changes.
