The Employment & HR team at Lester Aldridge LLP provide expert legal advice on immigration matters, specialising in advising care providers wishing to employ workers from overseas. We work closely with our highly regarded, specialist Care team to ensure that our advice and support is specifically tailored to those operating in the care sector.

Care providers looking to hire from overseas need to ensure that they have the correct licences and procedures in place to avoid breaching UK immigration law. Applying for a sponsorship licence is a complicated process, and providers need to ensure that the application is correct when it is submitted, otherwise they face the costly and time-consuming prospect of having to complete the application again if it’s rejected.

Providers also have ongoing obligations once the sponsorship licence is obtained, including duties to keep proper records, monitoring employees’ immigration status and reporting any changes to the UK Visas and Immigration.
