SESCA’s First Ever Conference

St. Anne’s Manor, Wokingham, Berkshire

Wednesday, 26th June 2024

Our first ever conference was a tremendous success, attracting around 100 senior managers from care providers across the South-East, along with representatives from partner agencies including ADASS, the Care Association Alliance, and our Care Associations.

The programme featured high-profile guest speakers addressing a range of critical topics for the care sector.

Erica Lockhart, Chair of SESCA, and Robyn Noonan from ADASS provided an overview of SESCA’s journey and the key successes of the International Recruitment Project. Melanie Weatherley MBE, Co-Chair of the Care Association Alliance (CAA), delivered a presentation on Opportunities and Challenges for the Care Sector.

Other notable sessions included discussions on cyber security, AI in social care, and strategies for achieving an Outstanding rating in CQC inspections.

Attendees also had the opportunity to visit exhibitor stands showcasing the latest in care technology and services, and to network with industry peers.

Thanks to our exhibitors

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising the quality of the sessions and the valuable networking opportunities.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Erica Lockhart said,

“We were delighted to have such a strong attendance, reflecting the importance of the work SESCA is doing to support the care sector across the South-East. It was great to outline our future plans, and we hope this marks the first of many more conferences to come!”
